This weekend I am doing something a little different.

San Daniele

My first ham has come in. It is a 12 month old ham from San Daniele del Friuli.

The hams from San Daniele are reputed to be the finest in Italy. It is also an industry and a region that I used to know very well. My wine tours used to finish in a artesianal ham factory.

Come and find out about this fascinating product. And watch me work to cut it as fine as possible and place it on the paper correctly. $5.69 a 1/4 pound.

I am trying out a Gavi from Marchesi di Barolo in the Piedmonte region to go with it at $16.99.
