Oenoteca

The oenoteca is proceeding well. The construction of the tasting and events room is finished. Painting should be finished today or tomorrow.

Cheese Club

I have been asked to start up a wine and cheese club. It would involve 3 different cheeses totaling 1.25 pounds and a bottle of wine once a month. In the coming week, I will be figuring out what the price would be. I would like to start the cheese and wine club the first Saturday in December.

Changes

I now have a new web page, new face book site, and am now going to start tweeting the tastings list and eventually the days menus.

Weekend Wines

Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio, Sannino, Italy. This wine, whose name means the tears of Christ of Vesuvius., comes from the slopes of Vesuvius near where I was born. A blend of Falanghina and Coda di Volpe grapes, this wine has a straw yellow color and the scent of fresh fruit. $18.99

Le Vielles Vignes, Domaine Robert Serol, Cote Roannaise. Closely resembling the Gamay based wines of Beaujolais with its peony-like floral perfume and mineral notes, there are subtle differences. Tart red cherry and plum fruit bleed into a darker fruit palate with intriguing suggestions of sassafras and spice. A decidedly sweet woodsy character serves as counterpoint to fruit flavors all of which are supported by a silky smooth palate with delightful balance and length. $16.99

Les Rabassieres, Cotes du Rhone, France. Deep red garnet with violin tints with the perfume of strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry, with notes of peppermint. $15.99

Domaine du Luc, Bordeaux, France.A sauvignon blanc semillion blend this is a very good reasonably priced desert wine for the holidays. $8.99
