Food Drive

I will be participating in a food drive between now and December 19th. If you bring in items of nonperishable food items, you will receive a discounts of

* 5% if you bring in 1-2 items, and
* 10% if you bring in 3-5 items.

So stop on by, and lets help the hungry. Remember there are a lot more of them this year.

Oenoteca

Work is continuing on the wine bar. We have had to make more changes than expected for the oven requiring more plumbing and electrics, but are still moving forward in other ways.

Weekend Wines

Herederos del Marques de Riscal, Verdejo, Spain. Brilliant straw colour. Superb example of Verdejo varietal wine with a mixture of tropical fruit aromas and hints of fennel and fresh green grass. Refreshing mouthfeel, full bodied with a slight final bitterness which gives it complexity and the very characteristic personality of wines of this variety. $11.99

Gavi, Cortese, Marchesi di Barolo, Italia. A straw colored wine with a perfume of wild flowers and apples. Savoury, medium bodied with a long finish. $16.99

Remonte, Granache, Spain. Intense cherry color with a violet iridescence and aromas of cherry, plum, and black currants. $11.99

Abadia Retuerta, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Spain. Very intense dark black cherry colour. Complex and attractive nose, fresh red fruit and hints of eucalyptus well integrated with the wood, aromas of roasted coffee and caramel that comes trough pleasantly. A very soft and gentle entrance leads to a very expressive and aromatic wine in the mouth: it opens up in the palate to reveal more complexity. Great balance between alcohol, acidity and structure with very fine and soft quality tannins. A very long wine, very persistent. $21.99

Hebrew Genesis Ale, New York. Crisp, smooth and perfectly balanced between a west coast style pale and amber ale, with a supple malt sweetness and a pronounced hop flourish. $1.99

Hebrew Messiah Bold, New York. A deep, bold nut brown ale beautifully balanced with rich dark malts and a complex hop character converging to reveal a simply enchanting elixir. $1.99
