I hope that everybody had a good Christmas and would like to wish you a Happy New Year.

New Years Opening Hours

I will be open from 11 - 7 (Sundays until 5) everyday until New Years day.

January Opening Hours

I will be shutting down the shop for the first 2 weeks in January.

New Years Sparkling Wine

In preparation for New Years Eve, I will be presenting a series of reasonably priced sparkling wines from Italy, France, and Spain.

Cava Pere Ventura, 40% Xarel·lo, 40% Macabeo, 20% Paellada, Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, Spain. Straw yellow with golden hues, it has a broad, firm palate, with hints of mature fruit and a touch of honey. $10.99

Prosecco Villa Jolanda, Santo Stefano Belbo, Italy. This Prosecco is a light straw yellow in colour with greenish hints and an aromatic, rich scent of flowers and fruits. It has a fresh, persistent, fruity taste. $12.99

Marquis de la Tour, Loire, France. Opens with a bouquet of apple cider. A nice mousse, crispness, and an apple, bready, creamy palate with nuances of citrus and nuts and a bit of astringency leads to a finish which is broader than long. There's a lot of freshly baked bread aromas in this delightful bubbly, along with peach pie and even apricot. This is an intense wine, dry and scouring and the crisp tartness follows through on the finish. $11.99

Moscato d'Asti, Santo Stefano Belbo, Italy. Light yellow with golden reflections, it has a fine and persistent perlage. The intense, delicate bouquet precedes the sweet, velvety, intense flavour. $12.99

Sunday Beers

None this week I am afraid, I am concentrating on sparkling wines.
